Welcome to Patricia Hotel

Patricia Hotel is a small boutique hotel on a quiet street in central Riga, a few minutes on foot from the edge of the Old Town. The building is a restored townhouse rather than a purpose-built block, which means no two rooms are quite the same and the whole place holds fewer guests than a single floor of a chain hotel. That is deliberate. We would rather be somewhere people remember than somewhere people merely stay.

Where we are

The location puts most of what visitors come to Riga for within a comfortable walk. The cobbled lanes and church spires of the Old Town are close enough to reach before breakfast has fully settled, the Art Nouveau streets north of the canal are a short stroll in the other direction, and the parks that ring the historic centre start almost at the front door. The central railway and bus stations are near enough that arriving with luggage is not an ordeal.

What the hotel is like

Rooms are individually furnished, with high ceilings and tall windows typical of the period. Breakfast is served in the ground-floor room each morning. There is no restaurant, no conference suite and no spa, because a house this size cannot do those things well and the city outside does them better anyway. What we do keep is a quiet building, a proper night’s sleep and staff who know the neighbourhood.

Planning a visit

Riga rewards a little planning, particularly around the season you choose. The journal on this site covers the practical side of visiting the city: when to come, how to get around without a car, what to eat, and where to go when you want a day away from the centre. It is written for people who have not been here before and would rather not spend their first morning working it all out.

Room enquiries and general questions are handled by email. Send us a message using the contact form on this site and we will reply.
